How do you prepare a local craft brewery for national brand recognition?
How do you prepare a local craft brewery for national brand recognition? We gave Ridgefield Craft Brewing a bespoke label system for their classic beers.

Challenge

Ridgefield Craft Brewing was preparing for the retail stage and wanted a branded label system that would tell their story from every shelf. They envisioned labels that would have a Pacific Northwest feel, that would make their brand recognizable, and that could communicate not just the tactical information but the heart behind it all. They wanted each beer to belong to a set and yet to have distinction. And it all had to fit on a can.

Solution

We started by expanding their existing brand elements and designing additional icons, fonts, and patterns. These new elements were carefully pieced together to create the tapestry-like label design, with nods to the mountains, rivers, and coastline that are intrinsic to our region. This design would be used for every label, making the beers inseparable. To highlight the character of each individual beer, we built out an extensive color palette so that each one could have a complementary but distinct color. We also made key pieces of text on the label easily editable to update names and descriptions. We even threw in a branded, blank label for bartenders to write on as needed.
